The National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate for the Wa West constituency, Supt (rtd) Peter Toobu Lanchene has described the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration under His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo as “a failed government” that cannot be trusted.

According to Mr Lanchene, the deceitful approach of the NPP coupled with the failed promises of the Akufo Addo led government is so glaring that even the President would admit it. “If you ask President Nana Addo himself, if he’s candid and fears God, he will tell you ‘infact I have failed’” he said.

Mr Lanchene insisted that the NPP won the 2016 elections through dishonest and cunning tactics such as making Ghanaians believe then candidate Nana Addo was the beacon of democracy, “only for him to destroy our democracy as President”. He therefore suggested that the NPP cannot be trusted to rule Ghana any further. “If he tells you something green, it becomes yellow. Where is the one village, one dam? If you find any it’s a dug out. Ghanaians applauded you for free SHS, and what do we see? Yellow track, green track”.

The former Secretary to the IGP further jabbed the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a joker. “As for my brother Dr Bawumia, he has become a laughing stock. Anywhere he goes people are just laughing because nobody takes him serious” he poked.

Alternatively, he recommended the “second coming” of John Mahama, saying he is a better and more experienced President to take away the “double track system” in the SHS, create more jobs with the National Apprenticeship Programme, among others as stated in the NDC’s manifesto.

Supt. (rtd) Toobu Peter was speaking at a town hall meeting in Wechiau on Saturday, 3rd October, 2020, to further propagate “the People’s Manifesto” to the constituents. Similar town hall meetings are expected to be organized across the Wa West constituency in the coming days.
