The secretary to the Ghana Federation of the Disabled Mr. Ibrahim Saani has expressed his satisfaction over the improvements made at registration centres which have become more disability friendly. Speaking to W935News, he noted that in the past many registration centres were not accessible to the disable fraternity. ‘Our people most especially the physically challenged found it very difficult using their wheel chairs to access the registration points but now things appear to have changed.’
Mr. Ibrahim Saani also went ahead to state that one of the issues which made people from his Federation stay away from previous registration exercises was having to join the regular queues for long hours, but this he says has become a thing of the past. ‘Now the EC has directed registration officers to attend to us as soon as we arrive at the centre.’ He also took the opportunity to call on the able bodied in queues to understand this and not insult them.
